Extractor Mounted to User's Pallet Jack

If you have a spare powered pallet truck available, consider one of the following forklift battery extraction methods which mount to your pallet truck for full mobility.

Automatic Transfer Carriage

Automatic Transfer Carriage (ATC)

Our most popular battery carriage accommodates up to 20 change-outs per day. This powered battery changer is available with vacuum or magnet extraction.

Mobile Battery Extractor

Mobile Battery Extractors (MBE)

Completely self-contained and portable, enabling change-outs anywhere in a facility (16 ft aisle clearance required). Recommended for up to 50 change-outs per day. Vacuum or magnet extraction is available.

Walkie Transfer Carriage

Walkie Transfer Carriage (WTC)

Non-powered battery changer designed for smaller fleets. WTC features hook-and-chain extraction with a hand wheel for positive control of the extractor arm.

Dual Transfer Carriage

Dual Transfer Carriage (DTC)

Three battery compartments allow for two battery change-outs anywhere in a facility. The DTC is equipped with magnet extraction.

Extractor Pushed by Hand

These carts and carriages are equipped with casters for manual mobility. No pallet truck required. Consider one of the following for 5 or less battery changes per day.

Battery Transfer Carriage

Battery Transfer Carriage (BTC)

This low cost solution is recommended for up to 5 change-outs per day. Available in a combination of powered and manual functions as well as vacuum or hook-and-chain extraction.

Bridge Trolley

Bridge Trolley (BT)

Two roller compartments for manual battery transfer. Track-mounted and designed for pallet truck and light picker applications equipped with roller beds.

Roller Transfer Cart

Roller Transfer Carts (RTC)

The RTC is a simple cart available in three different width roller beds for manual battery exchange.

Traveling Battery Transporter

Traveling Battery Transporter (TBT)

The TBT is a track-mounted cart that comes with either a 15-inch-wide or 21-inch-wide battery compartment for manual battery exchange.

Powered & Manual Extraction Methods

Choosing the extraction method for your equipment is largely dependent upon your application. You have a choice between the efficient powered vacuum and energized magnet or the budget-friendly manual hook-and-chain.  Download and review these guidelines for more information or contact BHS to discuss which option best suits your application requirements.

The powered vacuum uses suction to pull batteries with a holding power up to 1,550 pounds, based upon the vacuum cup diameter, which is available in 10" or 12" diameters.

The powered magnet has a holding power of 700 to 1,200 pounds, depending on the battery tray thickness. Magnet is recommended for applications without dedicated operators, and also for battery widths smaller than the diameter of a vacuum cup (battery can be as narrow as 6 inches).

Hook & Chain

The manual option for extracting batteries is the simple hook-and-chain which attaches to the lifting eye of the battery.

Matching Battery Carts and Carriages to Your Lift Truck Fleet

BHS battery carts and carriages help to limit changeout times, providing an excellent return on investment in various applications. We offer options for every facility, and from the rugged durability of our Roller Transfer Carts to the high-capacity service of the Mobile Battery Extractor, we provide dependable lift truck battery changers for fleets of all sizes. Some of the features of our battery carts and battery carriages include:

  • Flexible Features for Different Applications

Many BHS transfer carriages can be mounted to an existing pallet truck, converting your existing equipment into an efficient, reliable battery changer. Other models include self-powered travel or track-guided manual mobility. BHS transfer carriages utilize a variety of technologies to suit different operating conditions, including hook and chain, magnetic, and vacuum grips, each carefully engineered to prevent common sources of forklift battery damage and premature casing wear.

  • Superior Mobility

The full range of BHS Battery Transfer Carriages — available in every combination of manual and powered functionality — is equipped with smooth-rolling casters to easily transport batteries to charging stands. Phenolic wheels provide low rolling resistance without damaging floors. Battery carts feature heavy duty construction for an extraordinarily long service life, and load capacities from 2,400 to 3,000 pounds support most types of industrial batteries.

  • Best-in-Class Engineering

In the battery compartment, roller beds comprised of heavy duty, poly-sleeved rollers facilitate transfer while preventing sparks and resisting corrosion. Some transfer carriages are available with friction strips at the end of the battery bed to ensure stability during travel, and in most models, a variety of compartment width options can accommodate batteries of virtually any size.

Most of our products feature a powerful steel frame with an acid- and scratch-resistant powder coating. Exceptional craftsmanship ensures that every BHS cart and carriage provides dependable functionality across its entire service life.
